“Today, she has over 200,000 children enrolled in 716 schools nationwide – so many that she runs double shift schools to accommodate the increasing number of enthusiastic children ready to learn. One would think that this number would be enough to satisfy Aziz’s fervent aspiration to educate the youth. On the contrary, she believes this isn’t enough. ‘This is just the beginning.'”

“…Two or three years later, the MPA or the local government of that area came to the school and said you have to close the school down because the girls and boys sit together…two days later he called again and said he’s threatening and will close the school down unless you segregate the children..and so I just told the head teacher ‘tomorrow at assembly please tell the children that the school has to close.” The next morning, there were about 500 or 600 people, the entire village, standing outside the school saying, ‘no body is going to shut this school down.’ So we never heard from the local MPA ever again.”

The competition’s theme was “If there were no fire.”

Our students never cease to amaze us with their talent and creativity. It’s so heartening to watch them turn each opportunity into a major win!
